    there is a sign "3G CDMA" on my storm.when i return to China ,the China Mobile would offer a GSM network,could my storm still work there?
    anybody give me an idea.thanks a lot!

    It will work but u will pay International Rates.

    yes, it will work for sure. If your carrier is Vodafone, it is also GSM, so no difference with China.

    Yes it does support GSM, you must unlock the Storm first to activate any type of global GSM. Otherwise it will default to CDMA.

    as mentioned before, the o.p. has a storm 9500 (vodafone). GSM is its default.

    I will get a sim card from Chinese carrier.so it is no need to pay the international rates.
    and now I am trying to get an unlock code first.

    I think VZN or Voda wants a call BEFORE you go just to inform you of the steeper rates. I know for a fact that my 8830 needed NO changes. I cannot recommend unlocking your phone. Looking at Crackberry, it is just not worth it. Your time and energy are your best assets - treasure them and use them well !
