There is no need to ever power the Storm off. Even on a flight, you are only required to put it into "Flight" mode, or turn off the radios. Perhaps many of you don't remember the early days of PDA's and Smartphones when the memory was volatile and you couldn't ever let it be truly shut off or you would lose everything in memory? All of the power options that RIM has provided for 'shutting off' the device just put in into low power mode. Ever wonder why when you pull the battery and reinstall it and the Storm just starts? That's because it is intended to be running. Otherwise, we would have to actively push the power on button, right?
