I have read these forums for a long time and felt compelled to ask this question. So I registered and this is my 1st post. Also I did a search and it didn't really give any information.

I have a magnet on my PDA pouch and it seems to be a pretty powerful magnet and was wondering if it would damage my phone in a bad way.

no those magnets are to save battery life by turning off the screen when you put it in the pouch. they can not harm your phone or screen at all.

regular magnets (found in cases/pouches): no harm
high grade neodymium magnets (found in many hard drives): quite possibly

Depends how strong the magnet is. Very strong magnets will affect any type of electronics case in point EMP. I wouldn't be too worried about it if its just the one from your case/holster.
