It essentially keeps track of what you've been doing on your phone, and it cane be cleared.

According to Sooks, disabling the event log can potentially save battery and increase the speed of the phone.

If you want to disable it, turn your phone to landscape mode , press the menu key> Show Keyboard (make sure that you pressed the !123 key down to lock it)> type /"/"/ . The event log will pop up. Press the menu key>Clear Log > Menu Key > Options > Click on the first item on the list. Menu key> Hide all type

I highly doubt you will be able to disable the event logs. This is a background feature built into the OS for its operations. In any case, why would you want to disable them anyway?

Well they talk about it making it faster. and it makes sense, its one less thing that the phone has to compute. i just dont see how hiding it actually makes the phone faster, it may just seem like its going faster but it doesnt make sense

It does not increase speed or battery life. It just hides the log data.

Just like it says.
