I have read so many different variations, I want to make sure I am correct.

    1) 9500 will have GSM 850/900/1800/1900 and WCDMA 2100

    2) 9530 will have VZ's EV-DO, as well as a removable SIM for GSM 850/900/1800/1900 and WCDMA 2100.

    3) Neither will have WiFi.

So, if I wanted to buy one exclusively for GSM use, I can still buy a 9530 and unlock it? Or does it default to only EV-DO in the States, even if the GSM is unlocked?

Should the the usual Blackberry unlockers have ability to do this to the 9530 (i.e., was it easily done with the 8830's)?

    TIA

That's true. I don't mind the EDGE so much - I mean, I use the internet for info I need immediately, and, EDGE is generally only a few seconds slower than 3g. But, I MUST use my T-Mobile GSM when overseas, as I have the best, only, and grandfathered Omnipoint/Voicestream/T-Mobile int'l roaming plan, which is about 32c a minute for incoming calls in most first world countries. As a frequent traveller, this rate is invaluable.

So, my thought is, I MIGHT just port my T-mobile number to Verizon for the Storm and US use, and forward my number when I go overseas, and use my T-Mobile GSM SIM when overseas via the SIM part of the 9530, which would yield me 3g as well. It just means I need a Blackberry plan with Verizon AND T-Mobile.

Can someone still confirm my first query about the bands?
