Does my BB Storm use data (KB) when the phone is on, even if I am not receiving email or browsing the internet?

Verizon is trying to tell me I used 21,000KB of data while overseas, is this possible? They also told me that I used 10,000 of those 21,000KB during one day. How many KB is a small email?

    thats crazy man,

i don't want to hijack but I have unlimited email and IM from TELUS so all the email pushing won't charge me extra correct? I just can't go on the internet and use apps like weathereye which all use data.

Did you get the global mail option before you went overseas? $60 a month and you have unlimited data everywhere. More specifically, for me, US and Canada.

I called before I went to Mexico earlier this year. VZW told me to either get the the international data plan (They prorated the amount for me for only the time I was there) or to turn my data connection off.

You may be stuck with the bill. Sorry

I have the unlimited data while inside the U.S., but I didn't get the package for overseas use. It seems that I am SOL and forced to pay the bill.

Did you ask them about that? they might give you a credit towards that?

That is a serious bummer. I know I would not have thought about that were I to be heading overseas. So, dare we ask, just how much this cost you?

Not including the regular plan chargers for the two phones on the account about ($190 a month), it was roughly $425 for data and $100 for voice (I wasn't surprised about the voice) but, after I called back and added the unlimited overseas data plan the rep (one of the nicest I have ever dealt with) cut the data usage in half for me. So I saved a lot of money which is better then not saving money at all.
