I have searched the forums, but cant find this. Please help.

I recently got a replacement storm and when i plug it into the computer, the computer is NOT recognizing the memory.

The old storm used to detect 2 drives. E and F (The Device Memory & Memory Card). But neither pop up on my desk top now.

This happens both on my PC and my Mac.
The mass media storage & USB Mass Storage is enabled. WTF is going on?

Disable mass storage mode and see if your computers picks it up then.

i get nothing... still.

if i format the card i lose whats already on it. Besides, its not detecting the device either... its not like i get only one thing to show... i get neither.

Do you really think that is the solution?

try a couple of things. Reset your Storm. Close out DM and re open it. or reset your computer if that doesnt work.

Also, try clicking on device none and go to the dropdown box and see if you can select it from there.

If all fails, and you are trying to update OS, you can do so directly from apploader which can be found at program files->common files->research in motion->loader (im 99% on my mac now so that was from memory) double click apploader and you will be able to upgrade OS from there

yep... i did the ol' battery pull... its the first step in troubleshooting my berry.

Ok let's try this on the PC plug in the BB and check device mgr and see if it shows up as a usb device or a bb if it shows up uninstall them in the device manager reboot the pc and reconnect the BB

After you've plugged your phone into the USB cable, power on the phone.

If it is in lock mode, it won't see it as a disk drive.

Try to restart your computer while connected to your BB
Then enable Mass Storage Mode when prompted by your phone
You should be good to go
