    Re: Radio 90

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Hey Alfredo
Yep its very simple this is a huge problem and this has worked out quite well. I am also a tmobile user and have gone through the roof with this. But by uploading your .90 radio it will help you. But also I wanted to inform you. You might get VSOD "Verizon Screen of Death" with it. Its been a known problem. Also a few freezes here and there. <-- there has also been solutions for this as well. So let start from the first step.

First you need to learn how to uppack and upload your radios.

How To: Use the Radio code from one OS build in another

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For those users that experience frequent drops in data connection with a new build (particular a leaked beta build) this solution will help you use the new java components but keep your radio from your old, stable code.

Locate and Download the OS on your machine that caused your device to have good reception
Locate and Download the OS on your machine that you want to use, but has the data connectivity issues
Install both sets of software on your machine to the default location
Go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research in Motion\Shared\Loader Files and locate the two different OS installations.
Open the folder that contains the good radio code
Go to the GSM/UMTS/CDMA folder (your OS package will have one of those folder names) NOT the Java folder
Right click and Copy the only file located there.
Go back to the other OS installation directory and locate the same folder (GSM/UMTS/CDMA) and paste the copied file.
It should ask you to overwrite the current file, Click YES
If it does not ask you, simply delete the file that was already in the directory, and paste the new file in
Go to either Loader.exe under :\Program Files\Common Files\Research in Motion\Apploader or run Desktop Manager.
Update your OS as normal. You will notice that it might say "downgrade" in certain sections for the core OS. This is due to the radio code and should be ignored.
    Enjoy your new hybrid OS.

Post any questions you have in this thread. I apologize if this is already here, but i searched and did not find anything. For those users who downgraded to .86 or .90 on the Storm because .99 had horrible Radio, This fix will work for you.

    Edit:

Here are the list of Radios that Work at this time

    Storm:
use the .90 Radio in the .99 OS
use the .90 Radio in the .100 OS

    Bold:
.210 Radio in the .216 Code
.234 Radio in the .214 Code *causes reboots when browsing the web*
.234 Radio in the .216 Code

Once you do this just reinstall the os you want and viola you should be up and running.

    Problem you might run into
VSOD= Easily fixable by doing few battery pulls or taking out your memory card.
-It seem that the known issue is by uploading a previous radio code into a newer OS it conflict with the memory card.
Solution: here a few and has worked out very well. I havn't had VSOD since I have done this.
-- whatever wallpaper your using for your theme upload it to device memory. So the OS doesnt use the memory card to much to cause any VSOD
-- Secondly you can definitly try this but its worked well for me. This might give you the minimal glitches. Turn off your memory card support and when you want to use it turn it on when you done turn it off.

This should definitly fix your problem. If you already know how to upload beta "seem like you do" then it should all work out.

I've tried all of the OS and Hybrids. Seem like the .113 is the most stable one. You should definitly check that out.
I perfer the .113 beta os without the hybrid files. It seem to work the best with the mix/matching of hybrid files done in forum.blackberryos it has caused way to many glitches and problem.

Happy Cracking man and update your progress if it works out =)

HowTo:Get All Features (Browser, MMS) Working on T-Mobile w/Unlocked Storm 95xx
    http://forums.crackberry.com/f135/ho...rm-95xx-106023
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Request International Service Books
Method #1 Step by Step How To:

    Before You Begin:
Your Storm must be unlocked. If it's not, I recommend Uniquephones You Need a T-Mobile SIM Card With An Active BlackBerry Data Plan Desk Top Manager 4.6 or Higher installed. This is the disc that came with your phone or can be downloaded HERE

    What You Need:
Download and install CrackUtil to your PC
    CrackUtil.zip

SPECIAL CRACKUTIL INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR MICROSOFT VISTA USERS.
For Microsoft Vista, an additional step is needed after installation on all versions. Right click on the CrackUtil icon and scroll to Properties. Select Properties and then on the next panel, select Compatability and then click Run this program as an administrator. This only need to be done once right after installation. Note the check in the Run this program as an administrator box. This only has to be done once. Thanks Pete6!

Please see attachments below for T-Mobile Service Books.

Download/Save the Service Books to your desktop, right click on the Zip file and select "Extract All". Inside is one .ipd file. You'll come back to it in Step 2.

    STEP #1

Connect the Storm (and leave connected throughout the procedure) to pc and open CrackUtil. Enter your password if you use one. Select the File Manipulation Tab, then select Retrieve File Listing. Scroll down until you see the module net_rim_bb_browser_daemon Click on it and select "Remove File From Device".You will get a Grid Index Out of Range message at this point. That's normal, close CrackUtil. The Storm will be in the process of rebooting and may have an "Uncaught Exception Error" This is normal.

    STEP #2

Now, Open Desktop Manager and go to Back up and Restore>Advanced. You will see the Storm's databases in the box on the right. Over the box on the left, select File>Open. Locate and Double click on the Service books .ipd file you downloaded and extracted earlier. They should now be in the left box. Single click to highlight them in the left box and hit the bottom of the two middle buttons to transfer them to the Storm. When that is done, return to the Main Menu, then close Desktop Manager.

    STEP #3

Open CrackUtil. Go to the File Manipulation Tab, select Load File to Device A window will open containing the net_rim_bb_browser_daemon module you removed. Double click on it to replace it. When thats done you can Exit CrackUtil. You can now disconnect from pc. The Storm will be in the process of rebooting.

You should have a Fully Functional Browser now. Resend your email service books from T-Mobile to restore your email. Also you need TCP configurations in Options>Advanced Options>TCP. APN should say wap.voicestream.com Nothing under user name or password.

If you are using an unlocked Verizon Storm and have "Activation Required" on your home screen or your phone number displays incorrectly, Dial # # 000000 (Send). In the Menu, change the mobile directory number to your phone number and select save. The device will reboot and activate/display the correct number.

    ================================================== ================================================== ==============================================

Use this Method Only if CrackUtil will not run on your PC

If you downloaded a Multi-language version of your OS you will get a prompt to update languages. You can ignore. Select NEXT then FINISH. You will see the net_rim_bb_browser_daemon module being removed.

Single click to highlight them in the left box and hit the bottom of the two middle buttons to transfer them to the Storm. Then return to the Desktop Manager Main Menu. Minimize.

    STEP #4

Next, return to My Computer C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\{Your OS Here}\Java. Open the New Folder you created. Right click on the net_rim_bb_browser_deamon module. Select cut, select Back and right click and paste back into place. Delete the now empty New Folder you created. Close the Java folder.

    STEP #5

Return to Desktop Manager. Go to Application loader. Add/Remove applications. Select NEXT then FINISH. You will see the net_rim_bb_browser_daemon module being replaced. Select Finish. When the Loading operation is successful. You can then disconnect the Storm from the PC. You should have a Fully Functional Browser now.
