Does anyone know the max capacity of flash mem this phone will hold? I know it is to come with an 8gb card but how much will it actually support?

I am not certain but I think the biggest cards available are 16gb could it possibly be "future capable" to support the next gen cards?

Don't intend this to be a dumb question my nerdowledge doesn't extend to harware though!

The OS will be upgradable to support higher size cards, but for now expect any SDHC card to be supported. However, that's kinda pointless because we're still going to be limited to 128 or (at best) 256MB of FLASH for application/theme support, which is really the short end of the stick. Here's hoping for 256MB, but I'd wager the losers at RIM shorted us again with just 128MB similar to the Bold.

Biggest cards available are 32Gb and cost an arm and a leg. They aren't supported by RIM yet though.

Well this is all pleasing! Didn't want to get stuck buying another phone just to get a larger. Capacity card. 16 is plenty for my portable audio needs. I sure hope transfer speeds via the data cable to phone/card are improved. They blow monkey nuts as of now and I hate the idea of popping out the card every time I want to swap something out.

I'm hoping to completely wipe my hands of tangible media with this device. Upgrade to bluetooth stereo in my auto and go entirely wireless!

If rim supported the 32 card apple would have some real issues on their hand the largest ipod touch is 32 last I checked. 32gb multimedia bb?! *salivates*

Btw you had a 386 w/ 256 mb ram?! You must be some electrical motherboard genius god!

i hope its not behind the battery, that would be a pain in the **** like it is w/ my curve and previous 8830. i thought i vaguely hear it was on the side, but i can't confirm if its true or not.

Just read over on bgr that iphone 8gb have stopped shipping and they are now going to 16 gb and 32 gb. How long do you think before rim updates and allows for the 32gb cards?

Soinds like apple is getting nervous about the storm coming and springing a quick easy upgrade to try and trump it!

I am running an 8 gig on my 8100. I wouldn't be surprised to see the storm be able to support a 32 right off the bat. As for more than that... As more cards come out more OS updates will show up and we'll keep on upping the ante!

I'm still holding out for at least 192MB, it's what Kevin Byrne and the 9500 spec sheet stated. I would be surprised if all it had was 128MB (hoping it was a typo )
