if you don't mind added bulk...look into an extended battery too...between that and a fresh os you should rock all day

Check your connection. If you are in a deadzone your phone will constantly search for a tower. This can drain your battery fast. When I'm inside work it's bad and drains battery. When I go outside and get a signal it's fine.

Turn off GPS as stated above, and also switch to 1XEV. Also try a holster type case with magnet to put the device into standby mode; that definitely helps. Assume you've done the standard lowering of the backlight, having it turn off quicker, etc?

    austin,

the 3 calls, how long were you on them for in total?

like bud said, radio does drain the battery when it has to constantly search. not as much as when you have like half a bar or 1 bar, because it'll try even harder to get you something stable.

as bach said, check your backlight & brightness settings in screen/keyboard. set the brightness to as low as you can tolerate.

having gps set to on instead of 911 shouldn't be a factor. i have it on all the time but gps doesn't drain unless an app is using it. setting it to on just allows your programs to access that capability.

are you running a theme? theme can drain memory & battery.
