I think your battery has to be at least 50 percent charged. I just got mine today and it didn't sync up so I assumed it was because of the battery.

Did you set it up to allow for mass storage mode support and media transfer protocol and auto enable mass storage mode when connected?
Go to options->memory-> to set it up. I that's the way i have it.

I did all of that and it still doesn't detect. I still think it relates to the battery life so I'm going to let it charge up then try it again later.
