Boost Mobile uses iDEN which is a different technology. It's SIM card based, but it will not work in GSM phones. Sorry.

I have seen some videos of Sprint phones being used on Boost's CDMA service. I bet the Blackberry Storm can be used using the CDMA Boost.

Boost Mobile isn't CDMA, it's iDEN.
CDMA is based off a database of ESN, Electronic Serial Numbers. Your device works on CDMA by giving service to that ESN. CDMA typically runs on the 800/1800/2100 Mhz frequencies.
iDEN, which is what Boost Mobile is based off of, is SIM card based, just like a GSM device, however it runs on a completely different frequency. It runs on the 25kHz frequency.
No GSM device will run on iDEN.
If you've seen Sprint devices run on Boost, that's because the Sprint device must have an iDEN chip in it seeing as how Sprint is Boost's parent company.

Correct
Sprint now operates both their CDMA network and Nextels iDen nework, which is what Boost operates off of. Newer Sprint Nextel devices (the ones with the walkie-talkie feature) have both CDMA and iDen radios in them. The CDMA is used for voice (interconnect) calls, and data, while the iDen is used for the walkie-talkie communication (also known as dispatch operation).
Most likely he was looking at a Sprint device that has both radios?? Quote:
