Well actually in a serious note, camera phone shutter sounds are not being able to be toggled on and off anymore for privacy reasons I believe. I remember reading an article long time ago that pervs would shut off the sound and take pictures of whatever.

Keeping the sound on would kinda expose them I guess or prevent them from doing it, at least in a quiet place.

I understand there is no way to turn off the camera shutter sound on the BlackBerry, and I don't really care about the sound. It does not bother me at all.

But last week when my friend was taking a picture with his iPhone 3G, I noticed there was no shutter sound (and I remember his phone had shutter sound before). So I asked him why there was no sound. He told me on the iPhone 3G, he can simply turn down the sound volume to zero. It will suppress the shutter sound. So there go all those theories about government regulation on privacy and so on. It is simply a BlackBerry thing that RIM chose not to allow the users to shut off the sound.

cool, that timer is a nice upgrade. thanks for the link. its a shame paying for things that should have been standard, but this may be worth it.

You have a CDMA device. The shutter sound can not be disabled.
