when i hit the camera icon or the video camera, it will power down the phone and restart the phone, i would like to take pics with my phone, any suggestions? i have the 9530, v5.0.0.191

There's your problem. On .191 the camera resets the phone. Upgrade to .328 which is the most recent official, or any build after .191 and the camera will work perfectly.
