I am a newbie. Got the storm for internet access when in a bind. Should the speed of connection to web sites be the same or different when the phone indicates 1X or 1XEV? Tonight I was in an area that indicated that I had 1X coverage when using the browser and the response time was the same or seemed faster than when I have 1XEV coverage.
Definitely different from my knowledge. From my understanding the "EV" shows that you are in an area that supports data, otherwise you are just on the digital voice network.
Make sure and have your network on 1XEV and not global(unless you're out of the country of course).
And also try downloading the Bolt browser it is significantly faster than the browser that comes with the phone.
