I recently bought a secondhand Blackberry Storm.

It didn't turn on, so I figured the battery was dead. My dad uses a Blackberry so I figure I can use is charger and it will work. So I get home and plug it in.

Well it seems fine after a little while so I leave it be. In a few moments the red light goes away and lines and such start garbling on the screen.

My questions are, is this fixable? Was it the charger? My dad has a different type of Blackberry so would that be it? if it isn't fixable, is there anyway to take the data from it? Would a Verizon store be able to fix it?

I would try another battery first to test. Just borrow one or get the vzw store let you try one. if the pc sees the phone you can back up and reload the OS. Go from there.
