Same as with the Bold thread, please keep all release dates and pricing (speculations, guesstimates, theories and inside info) to this very thread. This is in hopes to reduce the redundancies.
Not that I haven't posted enough of my own speculalions, and while "one stop browsing" seems like a good idea, I would think that one thread with several hundred posts would get a little convoluted(sp)

High level insider over on HoFo states that Nov 9 looks good for the in-store release. no word on how phone orders will shake out. (pre-order only, or order by phone earlier than instore) also appears that stores will be opening an hour early the week of Nov 9th to accommodate expected heavier than normal store traffic.
oh... and hal1... the thread is already created and stickyed by a mod... i doubt arguing is going to change his mind. consolidation is a good thing at this point.
I just got off the phone with VZW CS...he wouldn't give me any release info (could tell he new more than he was saying tho), but he said that if you registered for the updates you will get a 1 week heads-up before the in-store date. He also said that the online, in-store, and by phone availability would be the same. He only used a hypo for pricing that started at $400 retail and my GF called yesterday and got a $500 retail tag. I tried to get a pre-order...he put me on hold and said he asked his higher ups and could not get me a pre-order.
No surprises here I know...just spreading what I heard.
Stores will only have 5-10 and will sell out in seconds ...so they advised ordering online.
Thats all I know ....
The price point is exactly in-line with the hypothetical I got from CS. The rep told me that I get my $100 off for the New Every Two and then "let's say you get $100 for mail-in rebate and the phone is $400, then you only pay $200"
So, if you were quoted $199 and your eligible for the N.E.T. discount, the price point may be dead on (after rebate).
And the sell-out factor was a fear that has me edging towards a phone/web order...plus I hate crowds and lines.

Reason: Forgot something
So if Verizon has 2400 stores and the phone is hitting the 9th... That means that at 10 per store, VZW only has 24k phones hitting opening week? Figure online will have access to 100k+ that leaves alot of phones for Best Buy to sell the next week.
The iPhone 3g goes for $199 and there's speculation the storm will sell for $400 +?
How does that happen? Big mistake if they sell Storm for much more over $200.

I agree...keep in mind though, that the $199 price tag on the iPhone is w/ a 2- year contract. The $400 I mentioned would be retail (meaning no contract or discount/rebate).
So I agree with you that it should be priced in-line with the iPhone 8GB and be $199 with a 2-year contract...that would mean my NET discount would make the phone $99!!! I love it!
Stores will only have 5-10 and will sell out in seconds ...so they advised ordering online.
Thats all I know ....
Well, thanks for the share, I hope that date ends up being the correct one. I am always dubious about such things; however, I have been surprised before. We shall see.
