For those of you that complain about the "black screen" issue where the phone will do nothing, do you have storm slider installed? If so, disable it for a bit (an hour, a day? enough time to try and replicate the issue) and see if it goes away.
FYI, a fix for the issue is to toggle the lock. Push it 3 or 4 times and you should get the screen to pop back up without a battery pull or shutting the phone off.
