Default BB Storm 9500 Vodafone VERY BAD Battery life

Hi all,

4 days ago, i had .78 OS version on my bb with a battery life of 1 or 2 days without heavy usage, i was happy with this, but like everypeople, i want more!! x

2 days ago, i installed the new .122 and my battery rate was 10%/hour!!! with no usage, no data, nothing!!

yesterday i returned to .78 version and i still have 10% of rate!!!!!!!

i respect the battery cycle... how i can solve this without request a new battery??

thanks in advance

close apps running in background, I found running things like msn, yahoo etc were draining it badly.

I only got my BB yesterday. I updated to .122 straight away.

The battery drained last night and would only charge to 95% this morning.

At the moment it's losing 5% per hour at least. With nothing running in the background, data forced to 2G and GPS off.

I've not taken any calls yet as the signal here isn't great and I've been in meetings.

I wonder if I should have stuck with .78 instead of going to .122 from the off.

Yeah you could try a wipe.

Options - Security Options - General Settings - (BB Button) Wipe Handheld.

Make sure u Back up B4 doing this.

Keep the faith guys - good battery life is definitely possible. See my other post for things I've done to help and my summary so far.

http://forums.crackberry.com/f86/bat...better-207954/

I upgraded to .122 as well and quite happy with it.

My view - the single biggest battery drain is the screen. Set brightness to 10% and Auto-Dim, 30 sec idle. Get a "sleeper" case so that your screen goes dead when you close it.

GPS and even Bluetooth on and I'm getting tolerable battery life playing music all morning through wired headphones !

Yeah it seems clear from reading various threads on .122 that experiences vary. It might depend on where you came from (I went straight from naked .78, but others went to .113 first). It might also depend which apps you have installed, some might not like .122.

so has anyone figured out why the battery drain is high. i upgraded from 113 to 122 and after that my battery was just chugging the power like nothing. could it really be the 122 i mean the update is awesome its more responsive and all but have i no choice but to buy a new battery?
