It is just when you pull out your battery and put it back in to give your phone a fresh start. It recovers your app memory and usually solves most problems.

Well, it literally means to remove your battery and re-insert it.

It is essentially the only TRUE hardware means to restart the phone.

There are software programs available that simulate a battery pull

W/device on, remove back cover > pull out battery > wait anywhere from a few secs to 5mins > reinsert battery.

Don't forget a battery pull is just a pill. The problem lies with the OS or a bad app that causes the memory leak causing you to pull the battery!

Download QuickPull so you don't have to literally pull the battery.

Although if the problem is a nonresponsive screen, you won't be able to select QuickPull and will end up having to do it manually anyway...

It installs and then removes a trivial dummy application. When you remove an application, the system asks if you want to reset the phone to complete the de-installation. The application "pushes" the "Reset now" button for you.

I second QuickPull, though I went into the Advanced Options -> Applications and disabled the compatibility option. Worked a little bit better on the Storm for me.
