    Hey guys,

I've had the Storm 9530 since last night. I charged it overnight, and basically used it super heavily all day (around 5 hours worth of music, browsing, chat, text messaging, and streaming from Pandora). My battery is currently at 25% or so. Is this normal at all?

Also, how long does one expect the iPhone battery to last under similar stress?

    Thanks,

    jlgosse

That is normal for a storm, and we do not speak of the other.

Does anyone have any information on any of the "extended" batteries?

If you upgrade your OS to .122, I noticed the battery life almost double. Definitely worth a look...

Yea upgraded from stock .75 to .122 and my battery has nearly doubled in life with normal use. Running slacker for 5 hours and using the other functions all day would drain the life of any phone quicker than normal. I have a buddy with an iphone and he goes nowhere without his charger if that says anything. Also turn your GPS off or to 911 only and you will save tons of battery life.

Funny, my battery life significantly DECREASED with .122. Well, I was on .109 and had terrific life, moved to "official" .113, had TERRIBLE life, and then moved up to .122 v3.5 with slightly better results.

Unfortunately, battery life seems to be one of those thing that differs from phone to phone, regardless of OS.

I have ordered an extended battery. My BB is just about dead around 9pm after a days use. From what i have read on the extended battery is that the batteries themselves are great but the new battery covers suck.

There is also an app called BatteryBooster. i dont know how it works but it have been getting some pretty good reviews.

I noticed that the .141/5.0 hybrid gives great battery results but since u said u were new to upgrading I might not suggest that unless ur really able to follow directions and be prepared to ask questions from this fine community lol

Decrease the brightness of your phone. I did that recently and it helped a ton. I used to have a dead battery by the time I'd leave work around 6 pm (after an overnight charge). I get no signal at work so that doesn't help. Today I've been up and running for about 28 hours and still have 40% battery. You won't even notice the brightness being lowered after a day or so (I turned it down to 50%).

there are threads out there how to optimize your battery life. First off, set your screen brightness to like 30, you'll notice a huge difference
