Is there any way to have the backlight stay off while the phone is locked?

I've been searching through the forums for this but haven't come across anything but ScreenLock, StormLock, and TalkLock. All of which are only for when on a call. The only solution I've been able to come up with is a holster...but that's REALLY not me. Hah

Also, is there any way to have the Messages folder contain everything BUT email. I have my SMS and Email folders separate, but I would prefer to have my SMS, MMS, BBm, and AIM all in an easily accessible folder that can be on my home screen. As opposed to having to do ALL of this CLICKING to get to each one.

In the recent OS's the screen stays off when locked unless you press one of the hard keys or the lock/unlock button. I would assume that the next official OS released by verizon will be the same, so you can wait for that if you aren't into playing around with beta stuff.

I'm pretty sure I've read on here that you can combine the folders, but I'm not sure how. I like to keep things separated myself.
