This might be a dumb question but I'm getting a replacement storm due to the screen squeaking when you click in the corner. Will a backup from the original phone load on the replacement

back up using google sync is best way to save contacts and calender, plus keep the media card (keep all your media obviously, well at least the stuff not on your phones main memory), saved my **** once when my info all got erased during an upgrade other than that, use the device switcher in DM that should help out a lot as far as third party software
simply put you can save most of your stuff but it'll take a few different steps
