I'm using the Hybrid v3 and my camera works good. It was slow on older os though, especially .75

Yeah, the difference is night and day between .75 and .113. I just had a family vacation while on .75; I ended up with pictures of other people's kids, not mine, because the camera was too slow. On .113, the camera is snappy.

Unfortunatley, you'll have to wait until a update is released that fixes it. I'm sure it'll be better with the update that'll be out soon.
So an update is coming soon. Hmmmmmmmm.
I heard that in december from the **** that convinced me to buy this phone.

There have been instances when I have tried taking pictures with the camera, and it has taken in excess of 20 seconds for the camera to respond. And this is while having 44 megs of free application memeory on os .113, immediatley after a battery pull. I don't understand why RIM even put a camera on this Blackberry if the operating systems that they write cannot handle it? I could deal with a slight lag but sometimes this thing just ridiculous. And I'm not even running any third party apps, and I have my device optimized strictly for speed.

I am running the latest OS 1.47 from Verizon camera was still very slow I did this.
    A: choose smaller size pic
    B. Turn OFF stabilization (not really needed unless a camera has a super zoom anyway)
    C:geotagging disabled

Until Rim and Verizon get their crap together this is the best I can do. It cut down on half the time it use to take to snap a picture. Which means now I can only read 4 copies of Macbeth instead of 8.

Is there any way to fix the speed of the camera without upgrading the OS?
