I wanted to ask a question to those who feel that they do NOT have a memory leak. When you say this, do you meant that the memory your phone boots at it stays at all day? (you know +/- within 3 mb or so) or do you mean after your phone boots, it drops to allow the OS to cache and then stays at that new number?
If its the second one, what does your phone usually drop to? I've heard as large as 15 mb, and as little as 5. I want to try and see what a good average is for memory to drop on a fresh boot of the phone.
Mine stays right around the same, depending on usage of course ( # of texts per day, web usage etc) But usually the ratio of memory used is pretty closely related to usage
When I do a battery pull and the phone reboots I'm around 49 and stay at that plus or minus 3 all day no matter how much I use my phone. But I am also OCD and after I use the browser I always empty my cache out.
When I was on .151 (the most memory stable OS on my phone) I would boot at 37 and could run the phone for more than a week with no reboots and never drop below 32. .167 fluctuates more for me. It boots around 32 and will drop below 20 by the end of the day. But it's really fast, so I'm keeping it for now.
Right now I'm sitting at down 8.5 from startup (CB App Store, VVM, and PodTrapper open along with the unclosables) after 1 day, 9 hours, and 4 minutes since my last reset.
I have 151. I usually boot up around 25MB and drop down to 22MB. The app that really drops my memory is Viigo. This will take my memory down to 13MB. But then goes up if I close it. Prior OS never recovered after that.
I no longer reboot as a way to stabilize my phone, I can go days w/o a reboot. A reboot now is down due to an application update or other reasons, like wanting to run Pandora/Slacker (which don't work well on 151)
I boot at between 35MB and 38MB. I'm rocking Rogers .282 with VVM (something I really don't need - but it's cute so I keep it - LOL!)
By midday the memory drops to around 28MB and then stays there till evening. Then a strange thing happens just prior to midnight - the memory increases to around 34MB. Does this happen for anyone else? I can't help wondering why it does this...
Previously on .151 I booted at 38MB and hover around 28-32MB depending on what I do.
Now on .167 and boot at 33-34MB and drop as low as 21-23MB.
I try not to reboot too much too.

I am on a shrunken version of standard .148 with lots of apps installed. My leak is nowhere near what it was initially(Used to hit 0MB all the time!).
I boot at 20MB and it will leak to 4MB in the extreme cases, but usually is around 12+/-3MB. I hardly reboot now(once every few days), it's not much of an issue anymore.
Using 5.0.0.140 and boots up at 39 with opera mini, weatherbug, google maps, and you tube. Drops down only 2 to 3 mb in a few days time. The lowest was around 29 and it rebooted itself...

I have. Quite a few apps. On .191 I'm starting at 30.8 and dropping to around 29 until something crashes...lol. I have been at 29 for the past 14 hours actually..

I boot up at around 56MB and I usually don't drop below 54MB.
I'm a little light on the apps though. Running meterberry, quicklaunch, google chat, pandora, quick pull, bb messenger, and weatherbug.
I'm running on a shrunken .151. I have one theme installed but I'm not running it lately (want to see if I can get used to the default theme in case I go to .167)
Throughout my day, I make ALOT of calls, text a moderate amount, and browse the web here and there sometimes.
After a week on .167 boot up is about 2.5mb less than on .151 but the OS has settled in nicely and all my apps still play well together. Stays within 2 or 3mb of bootup as a rule. I can force it down about 10mb by multitasking certain apps but after closing them memory recovers rather quickly.
