I want to hear alert sounds when I get an IM or BB message, but not when I get an email. So I went into the Sounds -> Set Ring Tones/Alerts menu for each email account, and lowered the volume to "Silent" and saved each time. But I still hear the sounds each time I get an email ... I've gone back into the settings to confirm that they're all still set to "Silent". Is there a way to fix this, or is this a "feature" in .75?
To answer my own question: setting the volume to "Normal" seems to accept all custom changes made to audio alerts.
Is there a way to get audio alerts for IM messages *only* when the IM client is not open and active and already engaged in conversation? I am tired of hearing my "new message" alert sound while I am already looking at the new message and replying to the person who sent me the message.
