yea i cant find it anywhere in those files. Is it for the 9530? and is your starting location 0x17c47cce? try this one 0x17c2f62e. And change your length to 624288. If you cant find it in there try uploading again. Make sure you do step 4 as well.

yes, it's the 9530 from Telus. didn't skip any of the steps.. so the original numbers just didn't work.

the second set of numbers worked that you gave did produce a six digit code that worked. i knew it shouldn't have been that hard to find, if it was there.. lol.

thank you for your assistance. much appreciated.

How does one determine the starting address and length?
I might have to do this for a couple more storms when i pick them up.

it should be ok from now on. to determine where to look you need to scan and find the areas of the memory that are readable and somewhere in there you will find the MSL. i had found mine and figured everyone elses is in a similar area so thats what i posted but you can read a large chunk of the memory and its a lot to look through. if you need to do it again just find a hexadecimal calculator and take the last starting location i gave you and subtract about 100000 from it and try that location.

Default Will removing 'Activation Required' mess up the SIM card functionality?

Hello all,

I have a 9530 from Telus, which I got unlocked by www_cellunlock_net for use with my carrier here in Denmark. It works like a champ with my original SIM card, including data etc.

But I still have the 'Activation Required' message at the top of the display. If I understand this thread correctly, this is related to CDMA (non-SIM?) activation. So, my question is:

If I follow the instructions in this thread (provided I can locate the security code for my device), will that in any way deactivate or mess up my SIM card functionality?

Thanks in advance

And just to confirm: Yes Cellunlock DOES deliver. It took 9 days for my unlock code to come back (their web site says 5-12 working days) - and it unlocked wothout any problems..
