Hi, I bought the 9530 on E-bay, looks damn nice, but can't use it though. It says insert sim card, I tried different sims but to no avail. Thought it might be blocked by verizon (I'm on MTN) enter mepd, get everything shows 'unknown' then mep2, mepp2, mep1, mep3, mep4 doesn't do anything when typed in. Any help would be much appreciated.

If the ESN or PIN is blocked by RIM, you just bought a paperweight. A call to RIM will determine if this device was reported as stolen. If so, you need to contact the seller to get a refund.

You may be protected by the Buyer Return provisions. Good luck ...

I know this is perhaps a dumb question but...
Is it unlocked? Or are you using verizon sim card with verizon?
If it is unlocked and it is still not detecting the Sim card try updating the phone to the latest OS.
