I work at verizon and yes they are testing it as we speak and expect it in the normal first run markets in a few months and some phones, but this is just what i hear and see!

are you a verizon "rep"? because if you are, i dont think it was smart of you to say that you work for verizon.
I updated my N95 software about 3 months ago, and that took it to 3.5G actually working. So I believe 4G is certainly not far from being fully functional.
Expect to see LTE phones pop up from Verizon late 4thQ 09. By mid-2010 all VZ phones will be 4g. VZ is VERY aggressive with their LTE deployment plans.
who cares. sprint has it in baltimore right now, yet not a single phone that can use it. they have 1 aircard you can buy to take advantage of it. pretty stupid if you ask me. they just rushed it out so they can brag about being the first carrier to deliver on 4G service. too bad its only in one city and their plans for expansion over the next few years is 2-3 cities / year. im sure verizon already has more coverage and will own sprint as soon as their 4g network goes live.
So what does 4G mean for us Storm owners now? It wont be compatible right? We are forced to get the latest and greatest?
Your correct. The first issue strom as built will not be compatible with LTE. We will have to buy a new handset in the future to enjoy the benefits of 4g.
And remember folks, just like not all 3rd Generation data networks are the same (e.g., EVDO, HSPA), not all 4th Generation data networks are the same. Sprint uses WiMax, and Verizon + others are planning LTE. You won't be able to use a WiMax phone on LTE, and vice versa. Theoretically, you should be able to use an LTE phone on any LTE carrier, barring network/device locks.
I wonder when Verizon will be implementing it on thier network
If it's anything like ATT's "3G" network I don't think Verizon has anything to worry about. Verizon will roll theirs out when it will actually cover most of their network reliably lol.
