Since I updated to .76 on my 9530, it has been slow and laggy and just al around bad. When it was running .75 I thought it was great! Is anyone else experiencing this? I am thinking about downgrading. Any tips on how to do that without a PC? No, really...how do I do it then?
mine isn't slow and laggy, it's just kinda buggy,
sometimes my screen doesn't switch from portrait to landscape instantly
and when scrolling it kinda pixelates, I personally think it's from doing 3 OS loads without wiping..
It works pretty well for me. I just did a wipe, and based on my highly unscientific personal estimates, I'd say it feels 10-15% faster than it did when I had it loaded without wiping fist. At that time it was maybe 5-10% faster than .65, so all in all I'd estimate my unit's performance has improved 15-25% over when I got it. Of course I have nothing to back any of this up except my own perception of things, so take it for whatever it's worth to you.

.76 is the best! Try doing a hard wipe and let me know how that works. Go to options - security options - general settings - then press menu - Wipe Handheld.
Thats what I had to do and the phone to off like a rocket and went from a Storm to a Hurricane!
When you guys do a wipe before installing a new OS, do you backup the current OS first, then wipe, then reload new OS, and then re-add everything from the last OS? Or do you just install the programs all over and again and reset all the old settings?
I agree with the others, .76 made mine A LOT better and faster! I also did a total wipe (Thanks to great detailed instructions found here at crackberry.)
Well I posted in a previous thread how I though .76 was much slower than the leaked .75. Well I gave it another shot and it seems to be working pretty well now.
Cant say it is 10-15% faster than .75 but i can say that a few more issues have been resolved and the few tweaks they did here and there seemed to have made it snappier.
Handles the memory better and have not had to do a battery pull except for last night when the browser was not working but that was due to a network issue I later found out about.
I think .76 runs fine. Note, I did not do a clean wipe. Its not been long enough to see if its much better than .75, but I certainly don't think I've taken a step back. good luck
Hi. Newbie here. I saw the link on the .76, but it is for Bell. What do I need to do to get on Verizon? Also, does anyone have instructions on how to do a clean wipe. Thanks in advance.
The url that you posted doesn't look right. Can you please re-post. And just to confirm, you got it working on your Verizon phone. What kind of improvements are you seeing, and is it worth the upgrade from .75? Thanks
Remember to turn OFF all your wireless connections before trying to install ,76 on your Storm or it won't get recognized as the newest software. It will see the .65 or .75 instead since these are VZW versions.
Great. I cant wait to try. You also mentioned "unlocked". Were you able to unlock the GSM? Does this mean you can take it overseas now? If so, please share how you did it. Thanks in advance.
I used it and did the full wipe. My Storm is soooooooooooo fast now!!!
My wife and I both have 9530s. I did a total wipe on mine, using JL_Cmdr, then loaded .75. Then, I loaded .75 on my wifes 9530 w/o the wipe.
Not only was there no difference between the two while going through menus, internet, landscape->portrait, texting and emailing - but I think my wife's is faster without the total wipe.
I just called verizon for the code. Very easy and quick. Directions are all over these boards to unlock phones after you get the code. I could already use it globally, but no I can used prepaid global sim to save money on calls.
