1st post/one month with the Storm
- First let me say what an awesome site this is! I discovered it on the very first night I brought home the Storm and have been checking it numerous (probably too many ) times a day.
What a blessing it was to stumble upon this site. I have found answers to every question I have had and learned tons of helpful information to guide me through learning how to get the most from my phone.
Now on to my experience with my Storm.
I walked in to the Verizon store one month ago and saw this shiny new phone sitting quietly in the corner of the store. As I continued to wander around it gently called to me and in the end, seduced me into bringing it home.
All I can say thus far is I am glad I listened to its Siren like call! This phone has performed near flawlessly and has continued to amaze me with its capabilities.
I added Weatherbug and Quickpull within two days of purchasing the phone and loaded 257 songs and several movies.
Call quality has been excellent and I have yet to drop a call. Fit and function of the phone are superb and leaves me wondering if I am extremely lucky since many people seem to have problems.
Internet browsing is very fast and once I got used to how to navigate pages and use the cursor it has become a very pleasurable way to pass time.
I have never had a random reboot, freeze or anything like what is read about so frequently on the forums. My one glitch consisted of getting an error when listening to one particular song. Since it was transferred over from Itunes I can only assume it has something to do with that since all other media has worked perfectly.
To sum it up my experience has been awesome and I am looking forward to more games being made for the Storm since this would give me the complete package. Movies, music, internet, games, neat applications. What more could a fella' ask for?
I would recommend that new Storm owners read these threads thoroughly and learn from other people before randomly downloading applications or making changes to the factory defaults without a complete understanding of what you are doing.
The Storm has a very steep learning curve but once over the hump it is smooth sailing.
Best of luck to all my fellow Storm owners out there.03-11-09 02:13 AMLike 0 - Questions:
1. What was your previous phone experience. Did you have a Blackberry before?
2. Did you consider a iPhone?
3. How does iTunes (Music, Video, and Movies) transfer over to the Storm?? If I have a movie on iTunes, I can simply transfer it to the Storm and watch it?03-11-09 05:46 AMLike 0 - I had a Palm unit before so this is my first Blackberry device.
I did not consider the Iphone because of AT&Ts' coverage area.
As far as Itunes goes that was part of the steep learning curve. No problems transferring music I had put on there from CD. Songs downloaded from Itunes store was a bit different. 75% of the songs transferred no problem while the others did not. I simply burned them to CD and loaded them on the Storm from CD.
I do not use the desktop manager. Instead I use the mass media access and drag and drop files onto the media card. Works great with movies, music and photos.03-11-09 03:02 PMLike 0
