- Just pm'd you with some info you may be interested it.
I had it on my phone, however, there appeared to be a massive memory leak... and I'm not sure what caused it. At least that's what I thought, I switch back to the theme I was using before (which I know works well), and I still seemed to have the memory leak.
Can a theme cause a leak simply by being on the phone and not in use? I also noticed that when I used the desktop manager to install my theme it also intalled VCast Rhapsody (or whatever it's called), so maybe that was causing the problem.
What's the best way to get a theme on the phone that doesn't basically redo the entire phone? (which is what desktop manager seemed to do). I tried to make a .jad, but all I got was a very small .jad file along with about a dozen or so .cod files. I wasn't sure what to do with them.
One other issue I had was significant "ghosting" on the home screen. By that I mean that you can see an after image of the previous screen when switching back to the home screen. Any idea what the cause of this might be?06-03-09 11:39 AMLike 0 - Ok, I've redone all the images so that they were smaller file sizes (without any apparent loss in image quality), and put the theme back on my phone for testing.
First thing I noticed is about 2.5 more mb in memory at startup. Also, the "ghosting" I referred to before is gone.
So far so good. I'll let it run normally now until tomorrow morning to see if I took care of the memory leak (I'm thinking the leak was caused by that VCast Rhapsody crap that was installed using the Desktop Manager, which I didn't use this time).
If everything goes well, I'll make what I have done available for those interested.Last edited by mynockx; 06-03-09 at 10:10 PM. Reason: grammatical error fix

There are still a few things I want to change and/or add (including some sort of "highlight" for when the Start button and "soft keys" buttons are touched... right now they are just static images). But what I have done so far is definitely usable... and fast.06-05-09 12:38 AMLike 0 - Pretty good start. As you had stated earlier, might be a good idea to move the weather icon to the top of the screen on the other side. Any plans for icons on the today screen? If not, a QL hot spot will enhance the theme overall. You should also skin the SMS icon. Works on 151 (need battery pull) and I did not notice any major memory leak after 3 hrs. Will continue to follow the development.06-05-09 04:06 PMLike 0
- i dunno i think all is well here..maybe if u wanted too incorporate a few things, but i like it as is.
im running it on a disclosed o.s from bbos.. ( sorry cant talk about it LOL ), but its all good on my end.
colors are vibrant and screen is functional..no leaks no nothing still holding strong after about 2.5/3hrs to 50+ MB06-05-09 07:19 PMLike 0 - Pretty good start. I will probably eventually end up either moving the sole icon to the opposite side of the screen (still at the bottom though), or I'm going to switch the wallpaper to something else.
Nice to hear that it's working for everyone (it should, since it is a pretty simple theme)06-05-09 08:21 PMLike 0 - Well, the "Start" button was intended to be used for QuickLaunch for those that have it (just put QuickLaunch in the 2nd position in your apps list). The reason it isn't dedicated to QuickLaunch is because A) I'm not entirely sure how to do it, since QuickLaunch isn't in the apps list of Composer, and B) I don't have QuickLaunch (though I'd like to get it eventually), and I'm sure there are others who don't either... and making the button dedicated to something not everyone has just doesn't make sense to me, because it limits the number of people who can use the theme fully.
