Not sure if someone already made this, but I figure it would be easier to ask than to search for countless hours. can anyone make, or is there already a today theme that is just the today part? Meaning, can I keep the original Zen theme and just get the calendar and messages on the home screen? I'm not even sure if this would be considered a theme or an app, but I would appreciate any help I could get with this matter. Thanks!

Take a look at the Earth theme by Oreo91. I was using this for a while, the calendar/messages is the fourth picture down.

I like that theme, but what I am really looking for is something that does not change the theme at all, just enhances it by putting the calendar and messages on the home screen. Thanks

I tried this one, but noticed too many bugs and it lags my OS as well. However, the message-centric today by Jubz is very simple, uses stock themes, and you can change the background to whatever you wish. Plus, when you hover/touch the messages/calendar/sms 10 new entries are revealed in the open space for the "L" theme. It's easily my favorite theme due to the snappiness and simple design coupled with the today features.

I looked at that one and don't see one with messages, MMS, and the calendar always on the screen, which is why I like this one.

I have all of those on my phone, but I actually like the original Zen theme. I want the original theme with a calendar and messages on the home screen. That's it.
