You don't need wallpapers for your themes to work, I don't even know who started that rumor.

    Instructions:

1)Hit the BB button to bring up you menu.

    2)Click options.

    3)Click layout.

    4)Choose "Today" and then save

5)Choose "2 Rows" and then save

6)Hit BB button again and click save.

    Done...........until you reboot.

No you need to change the wallpaper to fix the "white lines" issue too. Changing the layout to Today and then back to 2 Rows doesn't fix the problem. You have to change the wallpaper too. Developers need to upload their the wallpaper in their threads so people can save it as a separate image and replace it when they do the fix...then everything works as normal until the next reboot.

Whatever works for you, I personally don't have to change wallpaper. To each his own.

I think it's actually per theme, I've heard some say that none of the fixes work at all.

This trick slowed down the phone. It was fine on the older OS. I'm on 5.0.0.328 and it does have the white lines on the sides when on landscape.
My wallpaper had to be changed, but I used the original wallpaper. I just downloaded it from the developer's theme thread.

The delay is very noticeable when switching from landscape to portrait, but not as much as click on an icon, but still noticeable.
