how do i get to make like the calender appointments show up on the screen??

Go to inspector in theme maker (plazmic)
2nd tab
Theme Extras section
Check Today Area

or...

(Non-Hidden)
Create today icons by clicking on the first icon next to applications in 2nd tab then position them as you like

but what if i use composer to import the svg and that has all the icons how do i do it then?

It works the same way with an svg file. I have an svg file that hides my icons and then brings them back, and when highlighting the calender, messages, sms/mms icon, it will show the calender events and new messages in the today area that you setup in theme builder.
