Ok, I have been hesitant to post this...because I am afraid to stoke any flames...BUT...can someone give me a very short summary on ubuntu and gnome? I used search and wikipedia to feed my curosity but, honestly I didn't get great info from them....i absolutley LOVE both of these themes from purely an artistic and creative point of view but would love to "learn" about them. I will be throwing a nice donation tonight when the ota is released. Thanks in advance for any insight to the above.

Basically operating systems. Linux,Windows XP, Vista, Ish like that.
