If the Slider looked like this, would you buy it?

Of course the specs would be the same as the rumored specs (5.1" SuperAmoled curved screen, 3gb ram, 13mp camera...etc)

Nope. No belt. Might as well have a Passport.

I use the Hub shortcut on my Classic (in the lower left in place of the phone icon on all other BB10 phones) more than any other. If I have to go back to various swipes to get to the hub again I'd rather stick with the Classic.

Other than that, this render looks beautiful to me.

Other than looking cool, can anyone explain the advantage of a curved screen? Seems like it's just more prone to get damaged and doesn't add anything in terms of functionality.

Swipe up and right from virtually anywhere will bring you to the hub. You must've missed orientation.

Actually, it does serve a purpose. On the Galaxy s6 edge, it serves 3 functions and Chen said there's going to be a specific use to the curved screen.

Also, it's less prone to damage. I don't remember why but I read a whole article about this

I hope so too! Every slider ever had both vkb and pkb. If this one doesn't have vkb, it'll be a failure. I know it

It would be cool if there were a way to somehow lock the physical keyboard in for those who don't want to use it

That's exactly what I've been saying!!!! The day that the Slider was announced, I said they should have this option and everyone called me crazy. Well...I guess great minds think alike

Although tbh, I don't think BlackBerry will care enough to add this button

Hilarious. Yea, I know how to take the long way (as you can see from my description of it) but I prefer the short way.

It's all within the same swipe motion, up and right, probably takes just as long for you to use the button

Nope. I'm not a slider kind of person. I've owned several pkb and several vkb blackberries and I've loved them all. Just never seen the draw of the slider.

There is!!! It's actually one of the most innovative features that the slider has: if you don't want to use the physical keyboard, DON'T SLIDE IT OPEN!

It's actually the most innovative feature I've heard of since can openers that double as bottle openers - but only if you want them to!

Not interested with physical keypad. I would purchase without it. Full touch with passport hardware and light in weight.

Not all, but I agree they all should. The Palm Pre series only had a PKB, but a VKB would have been great for quick little things that you didn't want to slide it open to do. A patch is available to enable the VKB that Palm had started, but as it wasn't finished, it was (is) a bit buggy.

This render is just the "Blade" concept that was released in 2011 when BlackBerry 10 was first released. I am only aware of because I was obsessed with this phone.

It was expected to be the first BB10 phone. Instead, we got the Z10. /sadtrombone.mp3

Too bad really. Things may have turned out a little differently if this was the first BB10 phone.

Posted from my Passport. Seriously. You should get one.

As much as I would love a slider, this form factor would be a no sale for me. Too awkward and uninspired.
