Lost Standard Ringtones W/ Update To OS 6

I updated from OS5 to OS6 and have been struggling with Verizon and BB tech support for hours trying to figure out how to get my ringtones back. The Original OS for My Verizon Bold 9750 provided a hundred+ ringtones. I lost all of them.

I updated to the new OS6 and have been left with a peanut size selection of ringtones which do not serve my needs. I lost all the original ringtones, and I mean the ringtones that came with the phone, preinstalled. I tried restoring the last backup(today's backup b4 the update) and got nothing.

BB tech support referred me to you guys. I really hope someone can help me out. I am in desperate mode as I need a slew of applicable tones for my email accounts. Thanks Guys.

If you search the forums you'll find a link to download the OS5 ringtones from RIM. I don't know it off the top of my head.
Really, Verizon refers you here? I should send them a bill.

Just as a heads-up, and maybe this won't be your experience, but I downloaded the OS5 ringtones from the link and:
1. I swear it didn't have all the same tones I used to have on 5.975. Maybe I'm imagining this but it sure seemed like some were missing since I could never find some of the tones I used to use.
2. It was rather hard to use them since OS6 stores different kinds of tones in diff places and even interacts/previews them differently -- was pretty frustrating for me since it wasn't especially user friendly.

I hope I'm the only one who's had this experience, but just thought I'd post up about it.

Thank so much guys, it worked like a charm.

BBMINI, I am not sure the ringtones are all the same either. I got lucky and did get all the ones back that I was using.
I definitely don't like how I have to go to "All Alerts" just to get to the ones I had to reinstall after the update.
Even more of a pain is having to play each one of them instead of just scrolling over them like you can with the ones on the main
menu.

I wonder if it is possible to "All Alerts" to the main menu where they should be anyways?

I'm glad you said that since I kept thinking that I must have been doing something wrong. It seemed to me that nobody would have intentionally designed a tones preview system like that. There must be some reasoning behind it, or maybe there's a difference in the kinds of sound files between main ringers and alert tones, but having to choose and play each one individually was definitely a hassle.

Yup, don't like the new tones preview. It's a total pain to find a tone. Thanks for posting the link with the v5 tones though. I don't mind new tones, but the ones in v6 are too quiet. I could never hear when I received anything even with the volume at 10.
