You should be able to use the whole song, if you have it in your phone just got to ring tones and select browse find file where ever it may be and select it. it will only play a portion of file first 20 secs or so. I use the mp3's I put on my media card for what ever, new call sms mms etc. It will work fine, just go to the speaker icon, advanced tab and select phone call or sms etc. and find song and assign it.
