Dialling tone when abroad

When I'm abroad with my blackberry and people call, they get a strange dialling tone which identifies it as an international call, so they know I'm abroad. Is there any way I can stop this? For business reasons I don't want someone knowing when I'm abroad and when I'm not.

I'm pretty sure that that is controlled at the carrier network level and not at the device level.

Meaning, you can't control it.
