can't skip midi/ringtones

When playing a midi file with the media player, i can't skip to sections of the song like you can with mp3s. and once you click on the scroll bar, the playing time stops counting until you click stop and then play again. is this a known bug with the 8520 series, or is my phone just broken???

I even upgraded to os 5.0.0.900, but it seems that it still doesn't work.
