blackberry freezes when installing OS5 ringtones on OS6

Hello - I'am a recent upgrader to OS6. I've read all the threads about how to get OS5 ringtones back on OS6. I am following the method of downloading the update from rim and running the jad/cod. Whenever I do this my device freezes up - I've tried download the jad -- it downloads to a full bar then freezes. I've tried using BBSAK to run the cod I downloaded and it also freezes the device. I've waited 15 minutes before rebooting. Short of wiping my device - how else can I get OS5 ring tones back?

Download the ringtones from here:
RapidShare AG, Cham, Switzerland

Its a zipped file. Unzip it and plug your bb into your pc and drag the contents of the ringtone folder into the blackberry/ringtones folder on your storage card.

It might not be freezing. I thought it was freezing and pulled the battery twice before I finally just let it run as I had no need to use the device. It took a while, like 10-20 minutes or so, but it finally finished downloading and installing it.

Mine freezes when downloading "personal assistant", "flixster" and "poynt" from app world.

UPDATE: As per Luva1's previous post, i waited for about 5 minutes after downloading each of the apps i mentioned above. The apps were installed successfully. It's rather annoying to be honest since the screen stays lit for the entire process and the phone is unresponsive. This of course leading me to believe the phone has frozen.

Follow up: I've tried a number of apps downloaded through the browser and they all appear to frreze the device. It does not dim the screen and just sits on a full download bar. So it appears its more than just the os ringtones. Items downloaded through app world have worked ok so far - no issues. Any idea how to fix this?

I don't think there is anything you can do but re-install the OS. Sounds like you may have a corrupted install or something. I know of NO other choice that would UNFREEZE the device when downloading through the browser, since the browser is an integral part of the OS. Have you tried using a different browser like Bolt or Opera Mini?
