Any Way To Turn On Number Tone?
I turned on key tone but it's not the normal tones, more like a beep when any key is pressed. The number tone works fine when I am in a call so I can do things like enter commands to retrieve voice mail, etc. The problem is that my hearing aids can be adjusted with key tone and I cannot figure out if it's possible to turn them on. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jeff -

Go to Options-->Keyboard-->[select] Key Tone...
If you have search from home screen on, type Keyboard on the home screen search and hit the Options icon and it will quickly pull out this option.Pearl™ 8130 > Bold™ 9700 (Unlocked) > Bold™ 9900 (Unlocked)

I think, you need an App for that. It was removed from most phones by companies to protect privacy. There were cases where people hear what you type on a security pads and so on and steal your passwords, etc.
Most new phones don't have distinct tone for each key by default. However, it MAY (not sure) be possible to have this feature using an app. Then again apps like that could lead to lower battery performance and memory leaks.
Sorry that I couldn't answer your question.Pearl™ 8130 > Bold™ 9700 (Unlocked) > Bold™ 9900 (Unlocked)

Is this what you're looking for? ( TTY support?)

Nope. That's for someone totally deaf who can only type. Most modern hearing aids can be adjusted using a touch tone phone. We all get tone when we are in a call so that we can navigate voice mail, etc. I just need it when I am pressing keys. If I can't figure out how, I will have to make a call and press the buttons while the number is ringing. Thanks!

I have a 9850 & there is an option to turn on hearing aid support by going to options / call management / hearing aid mode which shows the options "no" & "telecoil". Not sure if this will do what you want.

Okay, I got it. Push the phone button once then go into the "Find Contact or Dial a Number" box. Once there, I have tone. Thanks so much for all your help!!

Press Call > Dial Number. Number tone will only sound in there.
Just trying...
