RED is synonymous with EVIL *lol* seriously dou,if it had mayb a matte or leather finish like the bold 9700 or the samsung galaxy note 3, I wuld have liked it..it looks too bright just like gettn like an old car with a new paint job,its looks new but everybody knws it's an old car but they look anyway bcos it's shinier than d diamonds in rihanna's music video. BlackBerry should have muted the RED alill bit to make more uni sexy *nt a word* you could get a porch though,even if it's a transparent/ nude one. And even if you have mitts 4 hands there no way an LG optimum Prime or whatereva it's called or a note3 device will seem disproportionate in ur hands..those devices are borderline Tabs in disguise

A friend uses hers w/o a cover and even after 4 months of normal usage, it's as good as mine (w/ cover).

The keypad coating wears out within an year, though.

I have to admit, I am a Q10 owner in the U.S., and I really, really would love to have a red Q5 for some reason. It's a cool looking phone.

After about a year (maybe 8-10 months?) the red is definitely chipping off the edges around the bottom. Has been for a couple of months now. I keep it holstered nearly all the time, and it was chipping before the one time I dropped it in a pot of boiling water.

Could be because I bought my red housing online, and maybe it's from a batch that didn't pass QA - Maybe the ones sold in stores would hold up better.

Still love the thing, but it's definitely showing it's age very quickly. My wife is using my red Z10 and it's holding up a lot better, despite the body only being a couple of months older, use-wise.

Although, my Q5 hasn't been through as many adventures as yours and lives a sheltered life in a third-party silicone case, the keyboard has started to wear out.

A friend's naked, red Q5 fell on the road and got chipped from the bottom.

Edit: taking it out of the holster and putting it back in would definitely cause a colour wear out, I believe! Used to happen in older curves with the silver borders.
