when i am using the internet on my Q5 and i go to google and search my search history pops underneath
when i click clear history it deletes then advises me to change preferences

1. i cant find preferences anywhere
in thephone settings or internet settings

2.anyway how can i stop google from showing purple writing of previously searched things

please please help

You will typically find your way to Settings for an app in one of 2 ways:

1. Try to swipe down from top bezel onto screen. (Doesn't apply to Browser, but does for Phone and device settings)
2. Tap the overflow menu (3 dots "button" in bottom right) and look for Settings in right side menu that opens. (Applies to Browser and Hub settings)

So in Browser, open overflow menu.
Under Display and Actions, set Search Suggestions to Off.
Under Privacy and Security, you may want to change the Remove History Items to a shorter time like After One Day or After One Week.

You're talking about the Google website, aren't you? This has nothing to to with your phone. Change the settings http://www.google.com/preferences?hl=en on the Google website to stop saving searches and clear search history.
