This is the second Q5 that I'm having this experience with.

I did an over the air update last night and after the complete download it asked that I restart the device for the update to take place which I promptly did. But after booting for several times. The screen just went blank the but the led light keeps blinking red.

I will so much appreciate if anybody can help me out with this.

Hello and welcome.
When the screen is black and the red light blinks it means a soft brick of your device!
You are going to have to cable your phone with your PC, use a USB cable, download the OS you want to load and run the autoloader to put an OS back on your phone.

I would personally never use an OTA update...and never have for this reason.
