Recently started trying out some navigation apps like Navfree and BlackBerry maps. I tinkered with them when I first got my Q5 in the 10.2 days; all apps I tried worked great.

Now, well, technically my GPS locks, but my position is in the river! A test route yielded nonsense directions.

What gives? GPs nav used to work great but seems mucked up now. Bbve results are clean too. Any other apps I can use to force a better position? Any other suggestions?

There have been a few threads about how since 10.3.1.xxxx and above, reception for WiFi and GPS has gotten much worse than any 10.2.1.xxx version. Looks like 10.3.2.2789 has fixed the weak WiFi somewhat but not sure if it helped the weak GPS reception.

Don't know what to tell you bro? Mine's been working flawlessly. Reinstall the OS maybe?

I will say that the q5 gps signal is weaker than other BlackBerry phones based upon my experience with exercise tracking. I don't find the q5 to be slow at all, but I find it to take longer to lock into the satellites. Having said that, choose my q5 over my z10 or z30 for exercise tracking because of its smaller size.

I don't use gps for driving but others have said it's turn by turn navigation is slower than other BlackBerry products.
