Hi all, my friend broke the display on her Q5, so I am going to replace it for her. I saw a video on this on YouTube, looks pretty easy, but wanted to ask you guys for any tips about this operation.

I've done this, prettey simple, but remember these tips:
    - opening the back cover requires a good use of force to seperate tape inside
    - in any case do not peel out the battery, it can easily be bend
    - there is a grip on the right side of the power button which tends to stick out when you reinstall back cover. Try to push it and bump the cover in, that'll do

Just one question: what sizes of Torx screwdrivers are needed?

I think I used a T4. Can't remember for sure. It wasn't a weird or hard to find size.

My tip would be to make sure you have a good quality pry tool. I didn't and I made a mess. Other than that changing out the screen was simple.

I have a set of both plastic and metal prying tools. Which one is more suitable? I don't want to mess my friend's phone

Personally I'd see if I could manage with the plastic one first. The housing on the Q5 seems pretty soft. I didn't have to pry too hard to make a mark.

I'm sure there was a youtube video of someone opening the case using credit cards or full sims as pry tools.

    5mm thicker & 3x battery life?

So I finally got to meet my friend yesterday to perform the repair. It went pretty smooth, but it was weird that three of the screws were torx 4 and the other three were torx 2. Very weird :-D

That can't happen, at least not in my case
