    Hi guys,

did anyone already changed the battery of Q5 in the service or alone? Is everything went well after that with the phone?

Wondering, because I want in the future to change the battery when I would not be able to use it the whole day.

And are there any high capacity batteries for Q5 on the market?

    Thanks in advance

Hopefully someone can tell us about their Q5 experience. I recently replaced the battery in an old android phone after doing a disassembly. The phone doesn't seem to notice. I just charged it up to 100% and let it sit there for an hour, then I let it run out. I think that is the procedure for all battery changes.

To took the battery out of my Q5. It was a little tricky since it's taped/glued down pretty firm. I used a hair dryer to heat it up to get it off a little easier.

And now after replacement, is everything ok, mitchy?

I'm waiting for my battery to arrive in the mail. Hopefully it fixes my flashing red light problem where my phone won't boot up.

On another note, I wonder if I have to tape/glue the new battery down again? And, where would I buy that type of glue/tape?

Thanks mitchy. I don't know honestly anything where it can be bought. I didn't tried so far to replace the battery. Maybe they are using some ordinary glue.

I hope you'll report to us later if the phone works properly 😉

Interesting question about the glue. I've seen replacement double-sided tape strips at some phone repair sites (like fixit.com), but I don't know how necessary that really is.

All went well. The new BlackBerry battery came with tape already attached to it. Once I connected the battery, I charged it, flashed an autoloader, unplugged the battery, waited a few hour's to see if it was stable, then glued down the battery, and finally I put the rear door on.

Be extra careful with the rear door near the headphone jack. The plastic is very thin there and may crack.
