The Q5 looks good and maybe better suited for my casual need for a phone and my budget, though there doesn't seem to be anything definitive yet about whether or not it is coming to the U.S. I would pick the Q5 over the Q10 if that was to happen but I don't feel like waiting it out for the possibility of a red BB.

I like that they moved the BlackBerry logo to the bottom of the screen. That would seemingly give you more space for swiping up. Some people and some video demos find it troublesome on the Q10.

One question regarding the ease of use on the keyboard. Does having the space between the keys on the Q5 make it a bit easier for typing? I have tried the Q10 on display and it seems to require using the tips of your thumbs where the Q5 looks like you could use your thumbs more squarely on the keys.

The Q5 is easier to use because of its bigger bezels, and I think it has FM radio although I'm not sure.

Other that that and design (which is personal preference) The Q10 is the better model.

The Q10 is undeniably the better device but is not cheap. I'm thinking of picking up a Q5 for development purposes as I love my Z10 and can't afford a Q10 at the moment.

Q10 wins. It's the classic Bold vs Curve scenario. The Q10 is more of a high-end device though, so comparing the two isn't really justifiable.

Q5 screen is sharper and brighter, no contest. Q10 has better contrast. Q5 screen is much closer to Z10 naturally because it is LCD. Better bezel spacing means less errors

I have never liked amoled,never.Is there not some super LCD display available?? I really do not want amoled screens in future.

I can only hope higher end qwerty in the future will use LCD. AMOLED is just poor for outdoor viewing

No. It uses light theme because it is using a LCD display. OLED displays will use dark theme to save battery.

It is maybe 5% worse than Q10 at most surprisingly unless the Q10 is on a black page which is not normal usage. It is possible to match Q10 battery life if both phones view light colored pages often. If you view a lot of dark pages then Q10 will have the advantage. The battery is a tiny bit bigger at 2150mAh compared to Q10 2100mAh. Overall the battery life is good to me

Actually I don't like the sound of dark skin. I like white backgrounds to read my stuff from!

Now I just have to wait till it is slightly more reasonably priced before I buy it for my sister... I don't think in ever going back to keypad after experiencing the z10 lol. the keypad is almost as accurate and easy to type!

Same here. It is much easier to read with a bright white background screen outdoors than it is against a dim black one.

Impossible to measure one can only calculate that for themselves.It wouldn't be the case for everyone.I read someone post in 1 of the front page article saying his wife preferred typing on curves because of the piglet keys.In my case keyboards just keyboard.
